There are different options for surgery depending on the exact formation of the bones and limitations of movement. Surgery will usually be recommended when there is RUS in both arms and the movement is highly limited. It can also be encouraged in cases where the palm cannot face down, so surgery can place the palm in a more usuable position. Exact options for surgery should be discussed with an experienced doctor if necessary. 

Because RUS is a bone condition, physical therapy will often not adress the source of the issue. Most people with RUS will avoid activites that require a lot of force from the arms because those can cause muscle pain. Since many will not experience chronic pain, instances of pain from activity can benefit from stretching and heat packs. Having an elbow sleeve can also help reduce potential pain after using the arm extensively.
